Oahu real estate's value - it's the weather.

Yesterday I spent the day with some clients/friends from Texas, and we kept coming back to one topic over and over - the weather in Hawaii, specifically Oahu.

People want to own real estate in Oahu because our weather is awesome. In the summer it's about 85-90 on a very hot day, with a grea Trade wind that blows almost all year, almost everyday. In the winter it's 75-85deg everyday, with only a little rain most of the time.

It rains more on the Windward Coast, in Kailua and Kaneohe, but a lot of that rain is at night. In East Oahu, which is Diamond Head to Hawaii Kai, it rains less and we still get a nice wind. In West Oahu it's warmer all year, but even there it's still in the high 80's to low 90's at the hottest, with a nice cool winter similar to the the East side.

In the dead of winter, while most of the country is freezing cold, fighting snow and hail, bundling up, we are surfing in 75degree water without even a wetsuit. In the summer while it's blistering over 100deg on the mainland, we are out running and biking, getting in the water, loving God's beautiful creation.

And that's why Oahu real estate has held it's very high value throughout the nationwide downturn in prices. Everyone wishes they could live here, but most never pull the trigger.

What are you waiting for? It's a free country, you can live anywhere you want!
