Kailua Beachfront Homes
Kailua Beach is lined with breathtaking estates that are home to movie stars and corporate executives. The appeal of the Kailua beachfront homes is that they are situated along the quiet waters of Oahu's east side. Here, the waves ripple gently all year long, and the water is as blue as the sky. The sand is light underfoot and perfect for sunbathing. I think if you can afford a beachfront home in Kailua, you'll be getting the best real estate that Oahu has to offer.
Within Kailua, there is a little stretch of beach called Lanikai, which is truly the cream of the crop. Lanikai beachfront properties rest upon quiet, tourist-free sands. This area is exceptional, so it will cost more to buy a home in this area.
Kailua also has a number of home tracts that are not quite on the beach, but are still very nice. Tract properties sell for between $600k and $1million. Enchanted Lake, Kailua Bluffs, Olomana, Kailua Estates, Kaopa, and Keolu are just a few examples.
Most homes in Kailua were built in the '60's and 70's, but many have been either renovated or entirely rebuilt, so there are plenty of beautiful homes in Kailua to choose from. Please note that there are no beachfront condos in Kailua, though there are a few condominium developments further inland.
