One of the few actual islands in Hawaii Kai, Koko Isle is a very unique little neighborhood in the center of Kuapa Pond. (See video below)
The Koko Isle condo development features one and two story waterfront townhouses that have been updated in 2011, and many have nice renovated interiors. The entire complex has been painted and rejuvinated, and now looks nearly as nice as Kuapa Isle, which is just across the water.
The marina frontage at Koko Isle is arguably better than Kuapa Isle, because it is in a very wide part of the marina, and the trade winds blow directly into many of the units.
Koko Isle townhouses were built in the 60's and 70's with wide marina frontage and beautiful Koko Head views. There are many very nice marina front condos at Koko Isle, and some units are nicely remodeled with granite counters and travertine floors. The grounds are kept nice and green, and as of 2011 the complex has been painted with a few different shades of beige, green, and yellowish tan.
Privacy is easily found in Koko Isle townhouses, as there is just one little bridge in and out of the development, and management appears to be diligent about watching out for residents' safety.
The huge advantage that Koko Isle has is that every marina front townhouse unit has direct and private dock access. You can get a unit with a lanai leading to your own private dock. Depending on the location, you might be able to get a 40-foot boat in front of your home at Koko Isle. There are also non water front units there, which can be as large as 1900 square feet.
Koko Isle residents enjoy access to a saltwater pool, fitness room, sauna, and meeting room at the on-site clubhouse.
