'Ilima and its sister tower Melia were launched together by Howard Hughes and Discovery Land Company, the club operator behind places like Kukio. At launch in September 2025 the pair recorded $1.2 billion in sales, including more than $280 million in penthouses and one residence over $40 million. 'Ilima was 41% pre-sold at that point. It's the only tower that houses Mohala, the owners club with more than 80,000 sf of private recreational space.
The Mohala club
Mohala is Discovery's hospitality model brought to a city tower: outdoor pursuits programs, dining, health and fitness programming and staff who know members by name. Access is tied to 'Ilima ownership. If you've been to a Discovery club you know what they're going for; if you haven't, ask me for the club overview before you evaluate price per foot, because the club is part of what you're paying for.
Setting
'Ilima and Melia sit on the former Ward Centre site, connected by a native botanical garden walk by VITA that runs from the IBM Building to Ka Lei Park, next to the 3.5-acre Victoria Ward Park makai. The architecture is limestone-toned with an angular façade that creates many corner residences.

Do Melia owners get Mohala?
Mohala is located exclusively at 'Ilima. Melia has its own amenities. If the club is the draw for you, that decides the tower.
